These days it is believed that if you do not have a website for your business then you cannot thrive. While this statement holds some weight, the truth is that simply having a website will do nothing for you in terms of bringing in potential customers. Don’t get me wrong, having the ability to come up on searches is very important but getting there in the first place is a completely different thing. It requires a ton of effort and a lot of strategy to get to a place where your business is the first to appear in a Google search. This does not happen with keywords being placed in the content of your site or having the right meta descriptions. That’s only a small percentage of what you need to do. On-site SEO is a good start but it will never put you ahead of all the other competing businesses. Even if a “professional” SEO company tells you this, it’s just flat out wrong.
Off-site SEO requires a lot of work building backlinks, writing content, promoting your content on the appropriate channels, and finding the right target audience to promote your content to. Mind you, these four things do not encompass everything you can do to build up your organic ranks and increase your inbound leads but they are some of the biggest things you can do to help your business. Inbound marketing does take a lot of work but imagine a scenario where you put in countless hours of work and suddenly people that are looking for your service are contacting you without your business having to pay for a ton of ads to get them in the door. They are literally looking for your service! That means when they do contact you, you don’t have to work as hard (make sure they understand they are getting quality services though) to make sure that they need your service, they’ve already clicked on your link so they know what they’re getting (to a degree). It will still be up to you to promote your business in a fashion that conveys that you are their best solution but the fact that they are already “in the door” per say means you already have an incredible head start.
Inbound marketing, while being time consuming, can be a tremendous asset to any company but especially strong for a small business being that the more inbound leads you can bring in the better your case becomes for the quality of your services. Therefore, raising your chances to compete with the bigger businesses. I can write and tell you how essential inbound marketing is but, truly, facts are what make a case. Here’s some facts about inbound marketing criteria that will hopefully influence you in the way of starting your own efforts for your Denver Web Design business or whatever industry you may be in.
