Steps You Need to Take When Starting Your Business – Part 3: Establishing Yourself on Social Media

If you’re new to the business world, then there’s a lot you need to cover to get your brand out there but unfortunately for most small business owners there’s not a lot of money to cover the expenses that go along with building a brand name (at least not initially). This is where denver seo and social media comes into play. It’s true that there are ways to do paid advertising on any social media platform but there is also the option to do some free brand promotion and marketing through the incredibly versatile platforms that are out there. With so many platforms to choose from, how are you to know what to sign up for and dedicate your limited time to. You want to make sure that you make the right choice and just wasting time on a platform that doesn’t increase your ROI but at the same time, it’s hard to know which platforms will really help you get your business out there and converting new customers on a regular basis.

No doubt, you’ve seen tons of advertisements or videos from these supposed gurus of social media marketing that praise one platform over another because it has brought them such tremendous success but the truth is there’s never really a way to tell if these people are as successful as they say they are. You could end up paying for classes that leave you with the same amount of knowledge you came in with but with way lighter pockets.

This is why we wanted to put our opinion out there as for the best social media platforms when you’re getting started being that we’ve used to paid advertising and organic marketing to build our business slowly over time.

You may have heard that Facebook is not as powerful as it once was and the likes of Instagram or Snapchat has taken it’s place. Although there is a little truth behind that, it doesn’t give you the whole picture. As the oldest surviving social media platform, Facebook still carries strong nowadays, boasting roughly 2.27 billion active users each month. To me, that doesn’t seem like a platform that’s falling off, it seems more like a platform that has become commonplace and so much ingrained in people’s’ daily lives that it’s just not regarded as the IT social platform, rather, just something you have to have now without a second thought. As a small business owner one thing should come to mind when thinking of branding, imagine the reach you could potentially have if you really worked your facebook marketing. It’s almost unparalleled. Even though it’s said to be falling off, don’t be fooled, there is still an incredible amount of opportunity on Facebook, especially for smaller brands.

[dt_fancy_title title=”INSTAGRAM” title_size=”h2″ title_color=”accent”]

One of the most popular social media sites on the planet right now and as of just recently Instagram has reached 1 billion monthly active users. The nice part about Insta is that it’s all about sharing pictures and videos. If you’re not familiar with digital marketing in 2019 then you need to know that this is now the premier way of advertising. We already knew that pictures tend to increase the rate at which would click on links but who knew that videos would do the same thing. Just think of sharing videos and pictures as a way to showcase what you can do or what you can offer. Another nice feature is that Facebook owns Instagram so integrating the two accounts together is really easy (they even give you the option on Facebook advertising to show ads on Instagram too).

[dt_fancy_title title=”YOUTUBE” title_size=”h2″ title_color=”accent”]

The second leading social platform in the world with 1.9 billion active monthly users, YouTube has become one of the leading branding platforms in the world all thanks to the rise of video marketing. Again, this is a great way to showcase what you offer and be able to present it in a more personalized way. YouTube gives you the added bonus of being able to create your own channel which you can use for all sorts of videos like tutorials or funny videos or anything you want really and, in addition, you can have people subscribe to your channel so that they will be notified about the latest updates.

[dt_fancy_title title=”LINKEDIN” title_size=”h2″ title_color=”accent”]

The most well known business social media platform, LinkedIn sits at about 250 million monthly active users. This is nowhere near the same amount as the previous three mentioned but LinkedIn could be useful in a completely different way than all the rest. Being that is a platform that is geared towards business, look at it as more of a means for networking rather than branding (networking could also be apart of your branding plan). You can still share content and in some ways it’s actually better because less people share content on LinkedIn so that means that your content has more of a chance of getting in people’s feeds.
